How MyTrace works
MyTrace is a defensive privacy tool. It analyzes only information that is publicly accessible and legally obtainable, and it is designed for authorized self-audits.
1. You consent
Nothing is scanned until you confirm you are auditing your own identity, or one you are authorized to audit. Consent is recorded with a timestamp.
2. You describe the identity
Name, location, profession and any handles or websites you choose to share. These extra signals exist to reduce false matches with people who share your name.
3. We search public sources only
Professional pages, news, blogs, public documents, community profiles and image contexts. No authentication attempts, no private data, no password or recovery flows.
4. Every match explains itself
Each finding shows its source, confidence level and the exact match factors behind it. You mark each one as you, not you, or uncertain — and the audit adapts.
5. Exposure is scored transparently
A 0–100 score built from visible point contributions: identity, contact, professional, social, document, historical, impersonation and aggregation exposure.
6. You get a cleanup plan
Prioritized tasks, drafted removal requests you review and send yourself, and verified links to official search-engine removal processes.
Demo mode
Until an external search provider is configured, you can explore the full product with a fictional identity. Every demo record is clearly labelled and is never mixed with real results.
